# S3-compatible storage

> Connect to an S3-compatible object storage bucket.

## Setup

Provide the endpoint URL, bucket, and optional prefix, then the provider's access key pair. Works with any S3-compatible provider, such as R2 or MinIO.

Add the connection under **Settings -> Connections**. Saving verifies it with a read-only test call.

## Operations

Apps can call read operations only. Operations marked Edit exist in the connector's catalog but cannot be granted to apps yet. Apps declare the operations they use per connection; see [Using connections in apps](/connections/overview).

| Operation | Effect | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `object.list` | Read | List objects under a prefix. |
| `object.metadata` | Read | Read one object's metadata. |
| `object.read` | Read | Read one object. |
| `object.write` | Edit | Write or replace one object. |
| `object.delete` | Edit | Delete one object. |
